Arvika offers a very pleasant environment for shopping, and there is plenty of parking space, much of it free. Most of the 110 or so shops in the town centre are within walking distance. You'll find the largest chains here as well as unusual small shops offering a personal range and service. If you're looking for gifts or souvenirs you'll find a wide variety of high quality art and craft. Arvika has well-stocked grocery stores and a traditional market (usually Wednesdays and Saturdays). Several auction firms are also active in town. In October the traditional Arvika Market ("Arvika-Mârten"), a lively and colourful street market, takes place.
